Mary Ann S. Callen, PsyD has extensive experience working with active-duty military, retired veterans and their families. Her clinical abilities were developed during her extensive career as a civilian psychologist with the Department of the Army (DAC). During that time, she served as an Aeromedical Psychologist while working at Ft. Rucker and Redstone Arsenal. Her experience also includes work with the Department of Veterans Affairs where she worked in specialized PTSD/MST residential and outpatient treatment programs in WY, WV, and PA.
Dr. Callen has worked with law enforcement personnel , first responders, and healthcare professionals and their family members, who may have experienced the secondary effects of abuse or trauma.
Dr. Callen has presented her scientific research for the American Psychological Association and is published in the Journal of Military Psychology. She is an Approved Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and served on the Clinical Hypnosis Education and Training committee (CHET).
Dr. Callen grew up in the Philadelphia, PA area. While raising six children with her husband, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University and later returned to earn a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Immaculata University in PA.
She happily resides in the Roanoke area.
